The Leal Foundation was established in November 2022 by Ana Lucia Almeida, driven by the vision to bridge the gap in healthcare access for underserved communities.
Over the years, the foundation has grown from a small initiative into a reputable organization recognized for its impactful work in humanitarian health services.

Ana Lucía Almeida – Founder
An accountant and social leader, helped organize 50 medical missions with various institutions. Her motivation to serve the community led her to start the LEAL foundation.
Dr. Fausto Leiva – Executive Director
Is a retired cardiovascular surgeon who served as a past president of the Lions Club and helped develop service projects.
Gabriela Walsman MD – Medical Director
Is a family medicine doctor in the U.S. She is dedicated to volunteering in Ecuador, where she earned her medical degree, and aims to organize medical missions to give back for the education she received in her home country.
